SELECTIVE SCIENCE - VetcarePlus Urinary Health

The advantages and information given by SELECTIVE NATURALS

Protected Urinary Health

VetcarePlus Urinary Health was developed from a careful study of the unique calcium metabolism in rabbits. It aims to prevent complications due to excess calcium, avoiding inflammation or the formation of stones in sensitive rabbits.

Rich in Antioxidants

The combination of cranberries and blueberries provides a rich source of antioxidants. These berries are known for their ability to support urinary tract health, helping to prevent infections.

Renal Stimulation

Thanks to dandelion and nettle, this food acts as a mild diuretic, promoting healthy kidney function. Plus, with the addition of vitamin C, it strengthens your rabbit's immune system.

Dental Wear

Its fibrous texture and unique properties encourage prolonged chewing. This results in optimal increased tooth wear.

Did you know ?

Urinary stones in rabbits:

These stones, also called urolithiasis, are solid masses formed by the aggregation of minerals including calcium. They can cause discomfort, even intense pain, or even urinary obstruction which is then a life-threatening emergency for the rabbit.

Urinary stones, common in rabbits, are caused by their way of absorbing all the calcium from food in the intestine. The kidneys then have the role of regulating and removing excess calcium through the urine; it is here, in the bladder and urinary tract, that these stones can form. A diet high in calcium or low in fiber can accentuate this problem . In addition, lack of water, leading to more concentrated urine, increases the risk of crystal formation and, therefore, stones.

This is why a diet low in calcium, such as the SCIENCE SELECTIVE - VetcarePlus food, and an increase in water consumption is important for rabbits susceptible to these kinds of diseases.
