Une balle pour hamsters est une sphère en plastique transparente avec des ouvertures d'aération où l'on peut placer un hamster. L'animal peut alors rouler la balle avec ses mouvements, lui permettant d'explorer en toute sécurité.
Les hamsters sont des animaux nocturnes et très actifs qui parcourent de longues distances à la recherche de nourriture dans la nature. Une roue d'exercice leur permet de satisfaire leur besoin naturel de mouvement et de prévenir l'ennui et l'obésité.
La roue doit être assez grande pour que le dos du hamster reste droit quand il court. Pour un hamster nain, une roue d'au moins 6 à 8 pouces (15-20 cm) de diamètre est recommandée, tandis qu'un hamster syrien nécessite une roue d'au moins 8 à 12 pouces (20-30 cm).
Les boules d'exercice peuvent être utilisées en toute sécurité sous surveillance. Assurez-vous qu'elle est bien ventilée et utilisez-la dans un espace sécurisé, sans escaliers ni dangers. Ne laissez pas votre hamster dans la boule plus de 15-20 minutes et assurez-vous qu'il ne soit pas stressé.
