Une cage de transport est essentielle pour déplacer votre hamster en toute sécurité lors des visites vétérinaires, des déménagements, ou tout autre situation nécessitant de le sortir de son habitat principal. Elle le protège et le rassure pendant le transport.
Elle doit être bien ventilée, sécurisée (sans risque d'évasion), suffisamment spacieuse pour permettre au hamster de se tourner, et facile à nettoyer. Une poignée pour un transport facile est également utile.
Placez une literie confortable dans la cage de transport pour absorber les secousses, ainsi que des friandises et un petit morceau de fruit ou légume pour l'hydratation. Évitez de nourrir votre hamster juste avant le transport pour prévenir le mal des transports.
Limitez le temps passé dans la cage de transport au minimum nécessaire. Les hamsters ne doivent pas y rester plus de quelques heures pour éviter le stress et les problèmes de santé.
